What Are You Waiting For?

Acts 1:9-12, 2:1-4

An Effective Church will have:

I. A genuine sense of wonder about what God can do

1. They stared in amazement
2. They engaged in worship
3. They submitted in obedience

II. A willingness to wait and an eagerness to work

III. A unity of purpose

This band of believers had limited resources, limited instructions, limited time together – but they also had unlimited potential

So this is what they did:

1. They worshiped together
2. They rejoiced together
3. They stayed together
4. They worked together

IV. A dependence upon the ministry of the Holy Spirit

The evidence:

1. They heard
2. They Saw
3. They spoke

The impact:

1. They had new Power
2. They had new ability
3. They had new Influence

V. A boldness of witness

Three essentials for a bold witness:

1. You must desire to be filled and controlled by the Holy Spirit
2. You must submit to the control of the Holy Spirit
3. You must serve Him with your total being
