The New You: A Transformed View of Scripture

Col 3:16-17

Growing deeper in our relationship with Christ can only occur as we grow stronger through His Word.

Three Commitments we must make:

I. A Personal Commitment: We must Embrace God’s Word

Understand the Command (v. 16):

• The Subject – The Word
• The Source – Of Christ
• The Command –Let the Word dwell in you
• The Extent – richly – or abundantly
• The Impact – wisdom
• The Choice – let –

II. A Corporate Commitment: We must Engage God’s Word

There needs to be: (v. 16 b)

1. Practical Instruction
2. Consistent Accountability
3. Unified Worship

III. An Unconditional Commitment: We must Employ God’s Word

This Commitment is to be: (v.17)

1. All inclusive: “Whatever you do”
2. A reflection of our relationship
3.  A recognition of gratitude
