An effective missions church will be: Serving, Seeking, Separating, Sending
The Church’s “Pre-field” Responsibilities
- Exposure to missions and missionaries
- Identification: Who are we going to send?
- Preparation of our potential missionaries
- Association: What agencies will we partner with?
- Destination: What field and focus?
The Church’s “On the Field” Responsibilities:
- Research: learn about missions and missionaries
- Relationship: connect with and get to know our missionaries
- Resource: mission’s takes money
A Model Prayer for Missionaries: (Col. 1:3-12)
Pray for:
- An open door for the gospel
- Boldness of speech
- Purity of character
- Freedom from discouragement
- A Strong marriage
- Spiritual nourishment on a daily basis
- Children, their spiritual development, and ministry involvement
