Motivations for Serving the Lord

2 Corinthians 5:6-21

A) Our Redemption – God reconciled us to Himself (V18)

1. Redeemed through the blood of Jesus (1 Peter 1:18-19)
2. We have been made children of God (Romans 8:15-17)

B) Our New Life – New Creations (V17)

1. New life through the death and resurrection of His Son (Romans 6:3-7)
2. Mind set to the Spirit (Romans 8:5-6)

C) Our Lord – the love of Christ controls us (V14)

1. ”No one can serve two masters” (Matthew 6:24)

D) Our Ambition – to be pleasing to Him (V9)

1. “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” (John 14:15)
2. Saved for good works (Ephesians 2:8-10)

E) Our Job – We are ambassadors for Christ (V20)

1. Beautiful feet (Romans 10:14-15)

F) Our Work – The ministry of reconciliation (V18)

1. Go and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20)
2. Not Ashamed (Romans 1:16)

The ministry of reconciliation has been entrusted to us, the church, and it is a job that we must be faithful in completing.
