One of the greatest tools we have when it comes to sharing the gospel with others is the story of what God has done in our lives. The challenge: “If you are redeemed – say so”
- Tell your story among believers
- Tell your story to your family
- Tell your story to the world
Three Critical Components:
- Content: Be intentional because the message is critical
- Context: We must say the right things in the right way
- Clear Conscience: Live out the Gospel with integrity
Preparing Your Personal Testimony, Your personal testimony should include:
- A brief description of your life before trusting Christ
– What was your life like before salvation?
– When did you recognize your need for salvation? - Tell about your salvation experience.
– What happened?
– When did this happen?
– Who was involved?
– Why did you feel it was necessary? - Share about your life as a Christian.
– How has your life changed?
– Since Christ has saved you what has your life been like?
– Share about your spiritual growth.
– Share about the hope your new life brings. - Helpful Suggestions:
– Write it out.
– Include Scripture verses to explain your testimony.
– Do not glorify your sin – give glory to the Savior.
– Be brief and to the point.
– Choose your words carefully.
– Ask follow up questions.
