Judson & Carol Weiss
I came to the Lord as an adult twenty years ago. Prior to that I lived a selfish sinful life, giving little thought to God and having limited compassion or patience for others. After hearing and understanding Jesus’s once-for-all sacrifice for sinners on the cross, I believed the sacrifice He made paid my debt to God in full and opened a way for me to have a relationship with God the Father. In the years since then God has been doing a work in me to recondition my heart. My spiritual growing and reforming have been a work of patience and love on Jesus’s part as He brought encouraging souls into my life, especially my wife Carol who has been a model of kindness and worshipfulness to me. Jesus has brought me far, but I realize my growth will not end until I see Him face to face. But He is patient and kind and I know He will continue to be with me and guide me. My wife, my daughters and I began attending LVBC a decade ago when we were looking for a church family that believed in the veracity and authority of scripture and who lived out God’s Word. The people at LVBC have been a blessing to me and my family and I am thankful for the Word preached and for the love and encouragement shared by the body. The Lord has given me a gift for administration and a reformed heart for service. For many years I have served in the sound booth, on the Kitchen Committee and as a cocee servant. It is humbling to be asked to serve the church body in the role of Deacon, since there are so many others who are much farther along in their spiritual maturity than I am. In my free time, I enjoy motorcycling, canoeing and hiking and taking care of my family’s pet alpacas, Toby and Monty. It is a special blessing to be able to incorporate some of those activities into fellowship and ministry, such as Motorcycle Breakfast Fellowship Rides. I ask for your prayers that I may be a man of God, worthy of your trust and confidence.
